An illuminating hypothesis about an emergent mode of production and related class relations: the hacker and the vectorialist.
Argues that capital is no longer the defining factor for the ruling class. “Owning the means of production” has been replaced by “owning the means of organizing the means of production.”
Roughly speaking: information usurped capital, and the vectorialist now dominates both the new the hacker class who produces “new” information and knowledge and (through applying that knowledge and information) the capitalist, who still owns the means of production but has seen their power diminished.
An important read.
